Beckett lookup is down: what to do now

Last updated Oct 12, 2026. Educational only; we don't authenticate items.

Status as of our last check (Oct 12, 2026): offline. Beckett hasn't announced a return date [1][2].

What happened

Beckett's websites, app and certificate lookup have been offline since September 9, 2026 [1]. In an October 2 update, Beckett said it detected suspicious technical activity during planned IT updates. It said it found no evidence that sensitive customer data was affected and that certification records remain intact [2].

The restoration plan

Phase 1 covers customer accounts, the submission center, certificate lookup and population reports. Phase 2 covers price guides and the marketplace. Phase 3 covers authentication services and the mobile app [1][2].

If you're buying

  • Ask for clear photos of the label, sticker or COA and the full cert number [1].
  • Keep the cert number so you can check it once the lookup returns [2].
  • Remember that an unavailable lookup neither confirms nor rules out authenticity [2].
  • For high-value items, consider waiting until the lookup is restored [1].

If you're selling

Include the full cert number and clear photos so buyers can verify later [1].
